ONLINE POKER NETWORKS

iPOKER

The network is powered by the software from Playtech. It's simple to use and aesthetically it works well. Windows Vista users may well find that the software doesn't run properly. There is a fix that can be implemented by the user, but it won't work on a lot of machines. We've been advised that a proper fix is on it's way, but don't hold your breath. 23 separate poker rooms make up the network which goes to show why the cash games have a good level of traffic. And as far as tournaments go the network guarantees over $2,000,000 each month.

CRYPTOLOGIC

You may well have heard of the Cryptologic network under the name of Wagerlogic. They are essentially one and the same, but Cryptologic is the parent company of Wagerlogic, through which it licenses it's software. For the purposes of this site we'll go with Cryptologic. The network is made up of several sites that all use the same software, and also allow players to face opponents from any other site or 'skin' of the network.

ONGAME

The Ongame Network was launched in 1999. The software is pretty good although could do with some fine tuning. Whilst the avatars used work well aesthetically, it's worth noting that it's sensible to switch them off. This prevents you from falling into the trap of sub-consciously attributing a previous player's tactics to a new player sat in the same seat, which is easy to do. In addition to the usual Internet based portal Ongame offers their services with software for use on your mobile phone.
