CRYPTOLOGIC (aka WAGERLOGIC)

You may well have heard of the Cryptologic network under the name of Wagerlogic. They are essentially one and the same, but Cryptologic is the parent company of Wagerlogic, through which it licenses it's software. For the purposes of this site we'll go with Cryptologic. The network is made up of several sites that all use the same software, and also allow players to face opponents from any other site or 'skin' of the network.

For a full list of sites on this and other networks see our Network Site Map.

MPP: MY PLAYER POINTS

On any of the Cryptologic skins you earn MPP points for your play at a rate shown in the table below. These can be used to pay for the fees of some tournaments, and they may be required to release the monthly bonuses. There are also some freeroll tournaments that require you to use them as a buy-in. You will see differences in exactly how they can be used dependant on the site. The best thing to look out for are the one off large tournaments that either have a considerable chunk of added money or large completely free prize pool. These don't happen very often but have seen a $100k freeroll and they're definitely worth it if you have the points. It means a slightly strange field because there is a lot more of a mix of good and bad players.

  • 1/4 MPP for pots raked 0.25 > 0.99

BANKING AND CUSTOMER SERVICE

Although some sites on the network do their own banking and customer service, the majority use E-Cash. This can be an advantage, for example if you use several accounts with different skins, an advisor for one site may well be able to assist you with the others. However, the information can be inconsistent, and whilst we've always discovered friendly helpful staff, if they can't get their facts clear it can't be a great service.

PLAYER NOTES

The notes system is good. One criticism would be that the viewable space is quite small, so you might find yourself needing to scroll through them. This does not limit the amount of notes that you can make though.

The notes on all of your opponents are kept in a file called 'notes.dat' within the root folder of the skin (e.g. c:\program files\littlewoods poker). The software loads this file on startup and the writes over it with any additions when it closes. This means that you need to make sure the software isn't running if you make any changes to the file. It also means that if the software crashes or your pc does, you'll lose any notes made since the last startup.

If you use multiple Cryptologic accounts, you might want to use the same notes on all of the sites. This is possible but only if you keep copying whichever is the latest version to the others. It is possible to cut and paste data from one notes file to another with 'notepad' but we advise against this. It is very easy to get wrong as the data is separated in a very specific way and if you get it wrong you will probably lose all your notes for good.
