5 CARD STUD: THE RULES
Stud is a game where there are no community cards. In the 5 card version 5 cards are dealt to each of the players, the first is hole card dealt face down and the rest are dealt face up. This means that only one card is hidden from the view of your opponents. When a player folds their cards are mucked which means that remembering the cards that have gone before is an important part of the game.
THE BETTING
To be dealt in each player must post an ante. After this there are four rounds of betting. Firstly the hole card and one exposed card is dealt to each player and the player with the highest card on show is required to start the betting. Another card is dealt to each remaining players followed by the second round of betting. This pattern is repeated for the fourth and fifth cards. For each round of betting the player with the highest exposed hand starts the betting followed clockwise round the table.
Once the betting is completed the remaining players show their hole cards to see who has won the pot.
